Your First Day

The below first day guidance may be impacted by COVID-19. Please work directly with your manager for current guidance, reaching out to Human Resources if you have further questions.

Where should I go on my first day?

On your first day you will be scheduled for an appointment with HR (2nd floor of Salazar Hall in Administration and Finance) to complete your sign-up, look for details in your appointment letter. You may also want to ask your manager where they want you to report on campus and at what time. If you have not received your appointment time please contact the HR office at hr@sonoma.edu.

Where should I park?

You can park in any of the general campus parking lots (E, F, G, H, J, L, M, N, O – see campus map for lot locations). Be sure to purchase a $5.00 daily parking permit from any of the permit machines before parking to display in your window. Following completing your new hire sign up, you will be able to go to Seawolf Services and get a staff parking pass to display in your vehicle moving forward.

What should I bring on my first day?

Plan to bring original unexpired documents that satisfy the requirement for the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 and the new hire paperwork you filled out online.

What should I wear?

The general dress code for campus is business casual however, upon receipt of your appointment letter, you may wish to ask your manager what the department dress code is like – as well as any other department specific questions you have pertaining to your first day (i.e. where to go after HR sign up).
